As much as we like to think that we have become so advanced, there are still a few things that remain the same. One of those things in the world of small business is still the most important means of advertising. That is “word of mouth.” Don’t underestimate it! In today’s world it is more important than ever. One person tells another their experience, and that person tells two more and so on and so on. Thanks to social media you can tell a whole listser about your experience - all in one post!
 
Thanks to numerous apps like YELP, customers have the opportunity to rate an experience and relay it to future perspective customers of that business. People are making decisions on what to buy and where to eat based on those reviews. It’s great for the consumer because they can make informed decisions on the products and places where they want to do business.

Those reviews translate much like “word of mouth advertising,” but on steroids. As we all know, how people feel is what effects those reviews. Recall the quote by Maya Angelou, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
 
”Isn’t it nice to know that how we treat people still matters and can have repercussions? It’s all in the reviews. No matter whether you’re big or small, your customers are what keep you in business.
 
Work hard, be productive, and, above all else, stay positive.
